Early United States Silver Dollar Coins
In 1794 the first United States Silver Dollars were struck. In 1794 and 1795 the coins obverse featured a bust with flowing hair. There problems in minting these first silver dollars to a presentable quality for the general public. In 1795 and continuing through 1803 the Draped Bust silver dollar was introduced replacing the earlier dollars that lacked quality.
