The walking Liberty half dollar coin was produced by the United States Mint from 1916 to 1947. The half dollar silver coin was designed for the U.S. mint by Adolph A. Weinman, who's initials "AAW", appear under the eagles wing feathers on the reverse side of the coin. The Walking Liberty fifty cent coin is 30.6 mm in diameter, 1.8 mm thick and features a reeded edge. The coins obverse features a depiction of lady Liberty walking and the coins obverse features a depiction of a perched bald eagle. Mint marks on the half dollar coin were located on the coins obverse under 'In God We Trust' during the years 1916 and 1917. In mid 1917, the Walking Liberty half dollar coins mint mark was moved to the coins reverse, to the upper left of the "half dollar" text located along the rim.
